Wow that was a busy few months!
In August last year I become a Mum to little baby Léa. Life as a parent is certainly busy but I am loving every minute of it…………….Ok maybe not so much the middle of the night nappy changes………….. But the good morning smiles and cuddles from the cutest person in my world make it very much worth while.
In October I travelled out for the winter season on snow. My husband works with the British team so he travels everywhere too so from then we were a family on the road. Léa went to every training camp and competition over the winter season so is now a well-travelled baby having been on 17 flights so far. We also had a lot of help from family, my Mum or Father in Law were out with us most of the winter so we had plenty of help.
The season went really well coming back after pregnancy. My main aim for the season was to meet the Olympic qualification standards for Peongchang 2018, which I did comfortably. The British Olympic Association don’t announce the team for the games until January 2018 but I’ve got all the results I need to get so now it’s a case of keeping fit and preparing.
I had a good time at the World Championships in March where I placed 9th. It was a really big course there, big jumps, fast corners and lots of difficult features. That’s the type of course I like best!
I also got to enter my first ever World Cup Team event with fellow British racer Maisie Potter. We finished in 6th place in a very enjoyable race 🙂
Now I’m looking forward to a summer training. I’ll be doing a lot of fitness training at home as well as some on snow in Europe and South America over the summer. The first competition of next season will be in Argentina in September, then there’s a break before the competitions in Europe kick off in December.
